Marquis Jenkins
Marquis Jenkins is an advocate, strategist and Community Organizer. Marquis Jenkins worked as WE ACT’s Director of Organizing, where he led a department responsible for organizing and membership. Before joining the WE ACT staff, Marquis worked as the senior community organizer at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, traveling around the country to support communities of color organizing to address criminal justice issues. Prior to that he was an organizer with Good Old Lower East Side, Inc. (GOLES), where his focus was on organizing, educating, and empowering public housing residents. Marquis was introduced to organizing at the age of seventeen when he ran for resident association president of the public housing development where he grew up. Marquis has a bachelor’s degree from Touro College, where he double majored in Education and psychology
